The series of winter graduation ceremonies of Széchenyi István University started at the Albert Kázmér Faculty of Mosonmagyaróvár on 9 February, where the „Teachers for Students” award was presented.
At the ceremony, Dr. Tamás Tóth, Dean of the Faculty, highlighted the importance of the developments of the past years and welcomed the young people who joined the large family of agricultural professionals in Óvár.
„The eight years spent at Széchenyi István University are a short but significant period in the history of more than two centuries. Since joining the institution, there have been extremely positive changes that have greatly strengthened its vision for the future, demonstrating the commitment of the university’s leadership to the development of the faculty. Significant developments have been made in recent years with the help of national and European Union funds, as well as the company’s own resources.”- he pointed out referring to the renovation of the castle and its surroundings, the refurbishment of several buildings and the creation of the Smart Farm.
In his welcome speech, the Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Tamás Tóth highlighted the importance of the training portfolio and infrastructural developments.
Afterwards, Dr. István Nagy, Minister of Agriculture and Member of the Parliament for the region, welcomed the graduates and stressed that in the period of precision and digital renewal of agriculture, it is particularly important that young people who have graduated put their knowledge at the service of the Hungarian agriculture and food industry. The Mayor of the city, Dr. István Árvay, then encouraged the recent graduates to keep the city in their memory, of which they have been residents for longer or shorter periods of time, and to promote its reputation throughout the country and Europe with their careers. The international students were welcomed by Dr. Zoltán Molnár, Deputy Dean of the Faculty.

The event continued with the oath taking of the graduates, who, after receiving their diplomas, were awarded the title of „Honorary Citizen of Mosonmagyaróvár”.
At the ceremony, Dr. Sándor Kalmár, Associate Professor of the Department of Agricultural Economics, was awarded the „Teachers for Students” prize for his outstanding teaching activities by the Student Council. Then, for the 20th time this year, the title of Model Farm was awarded to the representatives of Dunakiliti Agrár Plc. and Galliform Ltd., while the title of Recognised Place of Practice was awarded to Gazdakontroll Ltd.
