Széchenyi István University, the Audi Hungaria School Institutional Maintenance and Operational Public Foundation and the Audi Hungaria School Centre have expanded their existing collaboration into a new area. Under the agreement signed on 21 March, students who continue their studies at the University will have the opportunity to receive credit recognition for their mathematics courses completed in the German curriculum high school programme.
In recent years, Széchenyi István University has established partnerships with several technical schools, including the Audi Hungaria School Centre. Within this framework, students enrolled in the school’s dual vocational training programme can have their qualifications recognized as part of their university studies. According to the agreement signed a year ago, students who successfully pass the professional examination for the foreign-language industrial and commercial technician programme are eligible for credit recognition in the University’s Business Administration and Management as well as the Hungarian-taught Commerce and Marketing undergraduate programmes.
The collaboration between the two institutions has now reached a new milestone, aiming to align the content and requirements of certain science subjects taught in the German curriculum high school programme with the syllabi of corresponding University courses. This alignment ensures that the knowledge acquired in the „Mathematik” course, taught according to the educational system of Baden-Württemberg, meets the expected knowledge level outlined in the University courses „Mathematics 1,” „Mathematics 1 for Economists,” and their Hungarian equivalents. As a result, students continuing their studies at the University will be granted automatic credit recognition starting from the 2025–26 academic year.

The participants of the ceremonial signing included Emil Kusitz, Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Audi Hungaria School Institutional Maintenance and Operational Public Foundation; Andreas Gering, General Director of the Audi Hungaria School Centre; Tünde Havassy, Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Public Foundation; Dr Zsolt Kovács, Vice President for General and Educational Affairs at Széchenyi István University; Dr Erzsébet Knáb, Founding President of the Foundation for Széchenyi István University; Helmut Seiler, Trustee Representative of the Public Foundation; Márta Oláhné Tóth, Head of Finance and Academic Administration at Audi School and Prof Dr Zoltán Horváth, Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Informatics, and Electrical Engineering at the University. At the signing ceremony, Dr Zsolt Kovács, Vice President for General and Educational Affairs at the University, emphasized that the high quality of education at Audi School is demonstrated by the fact that the mathematics final exam taken at the high school level is equivalent to the „Mathematics 1” course taught at the University. He added that both institutions are committed to identifying and nurturing talent, which is why they are also working on an excellence programme that will involve the high school’s most outstanding students and mentor teachers. „The student community of Széchenyi University consists of young people from eighty different countries, creating an international atmosphere in which students from the Audi School can also feel at home. In addition, we offer a practice-oriented education that provides sought-after skills in the labour market, a valuable degree and a diverse student life,” he stated, expressing his gratitude to Dr Erzsébet Knáb, the founding president of the Foundation for Széchenyi István University, as well as to the leadership of the public foundation and the school for their openness and proactive cooperation.
Tünde Havassy, Chairwoman of the Board of Trustees of the Audi Hungaria School Institutional Maintenance and Operational Public Foundation, highlighted that the strategic agreement established with the University in 2023 has been enriched with substantial content in both 2024 and 2025. „It was precisely during last year’s ceremonial announcement of the certified technician training programme that the idea emerged to further strengthen our partnership in the field of mathematics education. It is a source of pride for both our students and teachers that the University recognizes the knowledge acquired in high school in this manner,” she emphasized. She added that their goal is to ensure that their school leavers are as well-prepared and competitive as possible, and this collaboration plays a significant role in achieving that objective.
