Széchenyi István University takes pride in recognizing graduates who have made exceptional contributions in their careers, communities, or personal endeavours.
We would like to highlight and celebrate the exceptional achievements of graduates of Széchenyi István University, who have accomplished their dreams of success following the completion of their studies.
Share your journey and highlight your career achievements through a written narrative, a photo and/or video submission. The best entries will be displayed on the Alumni Portraits page (https://alumni.sze.hu/en/alumni-portraits/ ) and will be considered during the selection process for the „International Alumni Award.”
Why participate?
The „International Alumni of the Year” winner will recieve:
- exclusive access to the 2026 University Awards Gala and Media Ball along with one accompanying partner
- receive a generous prize to the amount of net 100,000 HUF[1]
- the University will cover the winner’s flight ticket up to net 600.000 HUF1
- The University will cover the winner’s and their (one) companion’s accommodation expenses in Hotel Famulus Győr for the night of the Awards Gala and Media Ball.
The flight ticket will be paid after the event, by submitting an invoice in the winner’s name, if the winner attends the event and receives the prize.[2] However, the winner is responsible for all other related travel expenses, such as visa and passport costs.
In the event of a dispute, Hungarian law shall prevail.
[1] This income may be taxed according to the laws of the recipient’s country of residence. The recipient shall provide the University with a certificate of tax residency.
[1] The amount of reimbursement is maximum net 300.000 HUF (~800 Euros)for those coming from the European Union and maximum net 600.000 HUF (~1500 Euros)for those arriving from countries outside the EU.
How to apply

Application Requirements:
Short Essay:
Please submit a short essay addressing the following question: What is your most significant career achievement since graduating from SZE? Briefly outline the accomplishments and developments you have experienced as a result of completing the educational programme at Széchenyi István University. We are also happy to hear about your years at SZE, what programmes you participated in, what experiences you gained.
Photos:
We kindly request photos taken after your graduation. While professional photos are not necessary, please ensure that the images you submit are clear, without blurriness, pixelation, or any logos or captions. You may upload files up to 100 MB in size, in either jpg or png format. We anticipate receiving a maximum of 2-3 pictures.
Rules of Participation:
The calls for participation are open to all alumni, including international students who have completed their studies at SZE, provided they agree to the terms and conditions outlined for participation and data processing. By participating, applicants acknowledge their full awareness of the rules of participation and unconditionally accept them.
Each applicant may submit a maximum of one entry per year, during which they must apply to the International Alumni Award Call. Only submissions that meet the specified requirements outlined above (as mentioned in the „Application Requirements” section) will be considered. Only self-produced materials are accepted in the application, and all rights and responsibilities for the submitted text, images, or videos belong to the submitter. By uploading the requirements, you agree to the Terms and Conditions of the Call.
By submitting a proposal, you warrant that the work is your own intellectual property, is not legally binding on any third party, and acknowledge that identifiable persons in the photo or video have consented to its use. By submitting an application, you affirm your desire to participate in the „International Alumni Award” call organized by Széchenyi István University. The applicant confirms their status as a graduate of Széchenyi István University.
Alumni Portraits:
In the case that you do not wish to participate in the InternationalAlumni Award contest, you still have the opportunity to share your success story with us by filling in the form available on our Alumni website, under the tab “Alumni Community/Alumni Portraits” (https://alumni.sze.hu/en/alumni-portraits/). To share your story outside the contest, all you need to do is to upload your own story together with a photograph.
Please note that stories shared under Alumni Portraits will not be entered into the International Alumni Award contest.
Final Disclosure:
Széchenyi István University reserves the right to make changes to all the above conditions listed in the Call for Applications without notice.
