More than 2,200 students completed their studies at the nine faculties of Széchenyi István University in the spring semester of the 2025/2026 academic year and joined the institution’s alumni community, which now numbers several tens of thousands of members. Graduates earned degrees in engineering, information technology, economics, law, health sciences, sport sciences, agriculture, teacher education, social sciences, humanities, music, and design. Among the graduates were nearly one hundred international students. The highest numbers of international graduates completed their studies in the International Economics and Business, Marketing, Vehicle Engineering, Computer Science, Supply Chain Management, Electrical Engineering, Business Informatics, Design, Computer Science Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, and Tourism Management master’s programmes, as well as the International Relations bachelor’s programme. These figures reflect the continued growth of the University’s international community, whose members now represent almost 90 countries worldwide.
During the graduation ceremonies held over recent weeks, numerous students received awards in recognition of their outstanding academic, scientific, and community achievements. In their addresses, the deans of the faculties highlighted the importance of continuous development, responsibility, and innovation. International students played a prominent role at all ceremonies. They were given special recognition, and several took to the stage to deliver farewell speeches on behalf of their fellow graduates, reflecting both their academic achievements and their contributions to University life.
At the graduation ceremony of the Kautz Gyula Faculty of Economics, which has the University’s largest international student community, Dean of the Faculty Dr Sándor Remsei emphasised that the faculty is currently undergoing an international accreditation process, an important milestone in strengthening its global competitiveness and recognition. The ceremony was also attended by Khamphone Vongsanty, Ambassador of Laos to Hungary, further underlining the international character of the event.
With the conclusion of this year’s graduation ceremonies, almost 2,000 newly qualified graduates have joined the extensive alumni network of Széchenyi István University, carrying the institution’s values, knowledge, and international outlook into their future professional careers around the world.
