Career focus

Since earning my MSc in Infrastructural Engineering with distinction from Széchenyi István University, Győr, my career has focused on sustainable infrastructure in transportation, healthcare, education, and social welfare, with significant contributions both in Hungary and my home country, Nigeria. The experiences I gained during my studies in Hungary have deeply influenced my approach to engineering challenges globally.

Foundations in Hungary: Contributing to Győr’s Growth

My academic journey in Hungary allowed me to blend theory with real-world application. One of my notable projects was working with engineers and city planners to modernize Győr’s transportation network. By integrating sustainable materials and innovative designs, we enhanced road safety and efficiency. I also contributed to a project aimed at improving the seismic resilience of Győr’s public facilities, such as schools and healthcare centres. These experiences, emphasizing sustainability and accessibility, formed the basis of my future work in Africa. I also published a paper that highlights the seismic vulnerability hazards within the city of Győr.

Bringing Positive Change to Africa: Infrastructure Development in Nigeria

Returning to Nigeria, I applied the skills and knowledge gained in Hungary to infrastructure projects across four key areas: road construction, healthcare, education and social welfare. One of my most impactful projects involved designing arterial roads that connect remote regions to urban centres, significantly improving safety and boosting economic activity. In healthcare, I managed the renovation of hospitals in rural areas, ensuring they meet contemporary standards with sustainable technologies like solar power. These upgrades have made healthcare more accessible and efficient. In education, I focused on building modern schools equipped with STEM facilities in rural Nigeria, fostering the development of future leaders. My work in social welfare included constructing community centres that offer social services, vocational training and recreational activities, strengthening communities.

Sustainability and Innovation

Building for Future Sustainability is a core focus of my work. I have pioneered the use of locally sourced, environmentally friendly construction materials, reducing carbon footprints while supporting local economies. My designs incorporate energy-efficient technologies, ensuring that the projects I lead are both cost-effective and environmentally sustainable.

A Global Perspective: Connecting Hungary and Africa

My work bridges the knowledge and skills I acquired in Hungary with the unique challenges of Nigeria. I believe that engineering is a global profession, and I strive to bring international collaboration to solve infrastructure challenges. My projects in both Hungary and Nigeria reflect this global perspective.
