More Graduation Ceremonies at SZE: Hundreds of Graduates from Three Faculties Receive Degrees

At Széchenyi István University’s Audi Hungaria Faculty of Engineering, 199 students have graduated; 225 have completed their studies at the Kautz Gyula Faculty of Business and Economics; and 208 at the Faculty of Informatics and Electrical Engineering. The University welcomed the new graduates on 19 and 20 February at the Győr Municipal University Hall.

The Audi Hungaria Faculty of Engineering held its graduation ceremony on 19 February, opened by Dean Professor Dr Gábor Dogossy. “During your years at the University, we have provided you with all the necessary knowledge to enable you to stand your ground in life. The knowledge and experience you have accumulated over many years now await application. Our doors remain open to you, whether you wish to explore a new field or deepen your expertise in your current profession,” he said. Dr Csaba Tóth-Nagy, Programme Supervisor, then addressed the international students in English, while Márton Gábor Légrádi and Hasan Rafiul delivered farewell speeches on behalf of the graduates.

Following a performance by students of the Győr Visual Arts Primary School, Vocational School and Dormitory, Vocational Secondary School and Dormitory, maintained by the University, Dr László Lendvai, Associate Professor at the Department of Materials Science and Machine Design and Vice-Dean for Internationalisation, received the “Lecturer for Students” Award.

In recognition of their roles in student organisations, members of the Arrabona Racing Team – Dominik Miklós Biró, Kristóf Nagy, Domonkos Oláh, Ádám Attila Őri, Olivér Pilz and Ádám Puchmann (BSc in Vehicle Engineering), Ádám Papp and László Szörényi (MSc in Vehicle Engineering) – as well as Máté Boros (MSc in Vehicle Engineering), Kitti Farkas, Dominik Patrik Págyor and Krisztián László Vanya (BSc in Vehicle Engineering), and Zoltán István Pánczél (BSc in Mechanical Engineering) from the SZEngine team, and Benedek Botond Kállay (MSc in Vehicle Engineering) from the SZEnergy Team, received the Pro Progressum Award (certificate of merit). The Pro Progressum Award (diploma of merit) was presented to Máté Jáhn (SZEngine – BSc in Mechanical Engineering), Dávid Sándor (SZEnergy – MSc in Motorsport Engineering), and Péter Szendrő (Arrabona Racing Team – MSc in Vehicle Engineering).

Péter Zoltán Ladoniczki received the Pro Auditoribus Award (certificate of merit). The Pro Auditoribus Award (diploma of merit) was presented to Márton Németh, while Márton Gábor Légrádi (all BSc in Mechanical Engineering students) received the bronze grade, and Gergő Máté Szeidl (BSc in Vehicle Engineering) received the silver grade.

Subsequently, the Faculty’s 199 graduates received their diplomas and took their oath. The ceremony can be viewed here.

The Kautz Gyula Faculty of Business and Economics held its graduation ceremony on the same day. In his opening address, Vice-Dean Dr Gábor Szabó-Szentgróti emphasised that both the University and the Faculty have undergone significant development in recent years. “We are proud that our business programmes are ranked in the 600–800 range in the Times Higher Education Business and Economics ranking. We are also proud that the Faculty has joined the international community of AACSB, which represents the highest quality standards in business education worldwide. All this is reinforced by the University’s extensive industrial and international network of partnerships, providing a stable, practice-oriented knowledge base for our students,” he highlighted. He added that graduates remain members of the Kautz community, which will always provide them with professional and personal support.

Dr Judit Petra Koltai, Vice-Dean, addressed the international students, followed by László Attila Szabó, Corporate Client Relationship Director of OTP Bank, who spoke to the graduates. He noted that over the years he has worked with many professionals who graduated from this Faculty. “I can say from experience that a degree from here represents genuine knowledge and a practical mindset. You have received thorough preparation enabling you not merely to endure change, but to shape it,” he said. He also mentioned that economic challenges in fact present tremendous opportunities for those who dare to innovate when old methods no longer work and who understand the real weight of sustainability and responsible leadership decisions. “The diploma you now hold is an entry pass to the leaders of the future. The world needs agile economists with fresh perspectives now more than ever before,” he stated.

On behalf of the graduates, Tímea Kóczán and Diana Lizeth Núez Aguilar delivered farewell speeches, after which Judit Bilinovics-Sipos received the “Lecturer for Students” Award.

The Pro Auditoribus Award (certificate of merit) was presented to Ábel Balázs (BSc in Commerce and Marketing) and Virág Pintér (BSc in Business Administration Management). The Pro Auditoribus Award (diploma of merit) was awarded to Tamás Benedek Becze (BSc in Tourism and Catering), Tibor Kevin Hanzli and Zsombor Tóth (BSc in Business Administration Management), Tímea Kóczán (BSc in Commerce and Marketing), and Flóra Réka Konecsni (Higher Education Vocational Training in Commerce and Marketing).

The Faculty of Informatics and Electrical Engineering held its ceremony on 20 February. In his speech, Dean Dr Áron Ballagi highlighted that the students’ perseverance and commitment had borne fruit. “Be proud of your achievements! This diploma is not merely a certificate, but proof that you are capable of facing even the highest-level technological challenges,” he praised the graduates. He added that they had chosen a vocation that is the engine of the modern world. “The fields of information technology, electrical engineering and mechatronics are changing day by day – perhaps even minute by minute. Therefore, I urge you: never stop learning,” he advised.

Tamás Kurdits, Head of the Technical Academy of E.ON Hungária, welcomed the graduates as colleagues and likewise emphasised the importance of lifelong learning. “Many describe our era as a new industrial revolution; one thing is certain: mindset and technology are undergoing tremendous change. This environment offers exceptional opportunities to achieve success by applying your professional knowledge. Today, it is your profession that shapes our world most profoundly,” he stressed. He noted that E.ON has cooperated with the University in dual study programmes since 2019 and has gained many excellent employees through this partnership. “Széchenyi István University has chosen an outstanding path by maintaining continuous contact with industry, monitoring the challenges it faces, and aligning its education accordingly,” he remarked. Timár András, a BSc student in Electrical Engineering, then delivered a farewell speech on behalf of the graduates.

Frech Mátyás (BSc in Electrical Engineering) and Botond Sziklai (BSc in Computer Science Engineering), both members of the Arrabona Racing Team, received the Pro Progressum Award (certificate of merit).

The Pro Auditoribus Award (certificate of merit) was presented to Dávid Tibor Bagoly (BSc in Electrical Engineering). The Pro Auditoribus Award (diploma of merit) was awarded to Dániel Ruben Frick and Dorina Varga (BSc in Mechatronics Engineering), Máté Győri (BSc in Computer Science Engineering), Róbert Milik (BSc in Electrical Engineering), and Orsolya Konyik (BSc in Business Informatics). The bronze grade of the Award was presented to Tamás Homoki, and the silver grade to Máté Bogáth (BSc in Computer Science Engineering).

At the ceremony, Szilárd Pónya and Benedikta Rédling (BSc in Electrical Engineering), as well as Ágoston Koppány Szűcs (BSc in Mechatronics Engineering), received certificates of recognition for their outstanding academic, professional and scientific achievements within the SZESAT Interdisciplinary College for Advanced Studies, operated by the Faculty.
