The Design Campus Competence Centre and Széchenyi István University’s Department of Design have jointly launched the initiative titled “DO — Growing in Design”, which provides a platform for talented young designers to showcase their work. As part of this programme, the University’s design students recently presented an exciting exhibition at one of the continent’s most significant design fairs and exhibitions: Blickfang Vienna 2025.

Széchenyi István University places great emphasis on nurturing talent, and the Design Campus Competence Centre (DCKK) and the Department of Design within the Faculty of Design and Performance Arts has now added a new element to this mission by launching their joint project titled “DO — Growing in Design.”

“Design today is not only about objects but also about thinking, connection and development. This mindset drives our initiative. Our collaboration is both a professional partnership and the beginning of a new era, in which academic knowledge, research and the creative industries work together to strengthen their presence on both the national and international stage,” said András Gosztom, Professional Director of the DCKK. Krisztián Palócz, Head of the Department of Industrial Design, added that the name “DO” draws inspiration from Győr’s industrial heritage and symbolises an active design approach – an attitude in which form, concept and collaboration form an inseparable unity. “The project made its debut at the Blickfang Vienna 2025 exhibition, which is a milestone, as this event is one of Europe’s best-known design fairs and exhibitions,” he emphasised.

The Design Campus Competence Centre and the Department of Design at Széchenyi István University launched their joint project “DO — Growing in Design”, which recently made its debut at the Blickfang Vienna 2025 design exhibition.

For more than thirty years, Blickfang has provided space for various branches of contemporary design, where visitors can meet designers, creators and brands directly. The focus lies on authenticity, quality and unique ideas – the same human-centred approach represented by the Győr-based initiative. The professional programme also provides opportunities for young designers to introduce themselves. “Creators with fresh perspectives and bold ideas are given a platform to reflect on the questions of the present. Their work demonstrates that design is not merely a matter of style, but also of thought and responsibility,” explained András Gosztom.

Krisztián Palócz confirmed that this joint appearance sends a clear message. “The future lies in openness, collaboration and international dialogue,” he emphasised. “Blickfang Vienna 2025 is only the first step in this journey, but it is already clear that DO is not only a brand, but a way of thinking: design is shared work, a shared path and shared responsibility.”
