From February 2025, Széchenyi István University, in cooperation with Wizz Air, is launching an Aviation Postgraduate Programme as well as a Motorsport Engineering Master Programme with the involvement of former and currently active Formula 1 engineers. For the latter programme, students from OECD ODA beneficiary countries will be eligible for a significant scholarship.
Széchenyi István University is launching English-taught programmes in February, which are open to international students. Annabella Bihari, head of the University’s Centre for International Programmes and Alumni, said, “the three-semester pilot training programme, launched in cooperation with Wizz Air, an airline with a fleet of 200 aircrafts flying on more than 500 routes, will prepare students to fly large passenger aircrafts. In addition to theoretical knowledge, candidates will receive a high level of practical education as well, supported by a state-of-the-art simulator and brand new digitally instrumented aircrafts.”
Application for this programme is accepted with at least a Bachelor’s degree in any field. Those with a degree in engineering will qualify as Aviation Engineers, while those with other degrees will qualify as Aviation Specialists. Recruitment is subject to a Class 1 medical certificate at the medical fitness examination. Candidates are not required to have previous experience as an aeroplane pilot.

The practical knowledge will be acquired through cooperation with partner teams.”
Applications for this programme are open until 15 September 2024 at https://admissions.sze.hu/masters-in-motorsport-engineering-msc.
The Master’s programme in Motorsport Engineering provides students with the knowledge they need to take part in international competition teams.
In the case of the latter, the newly created scholarship of Széchenyi István University can help many applicants. Márta Mészáros, Head of the Mobility and Scholarship Unit of the Centre International Programmes and Alumni of the institution, said that the Széchenyi ODA (SODA) scholarship is open to applicants from the ODA beneficiary countries of the Organisation for Cooperation and Development (OECD). „Our institution also wants to support talented young people from disadvantaged countries who are high achievers. The scholarship is open to five Bachelor’s and five Master’s students per academic year. They will receive a 90 percent tuition fee refund, free accommodation and basic health care. In the Spring semester of Academic Year 2024-2025, only applicants for the Master’s degree in Motorsport Engineering can apply for the scholarship,” said Márta Mészáros.
