Leaders and Staff of SZE Honored on State Foundation Day

On the recommendation of Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, the President of Hungary, Tamás Sulyok, awarded honours to several outstanding leaders, lecturers, and staff members of Széchenyi István University on the occasion of the State Foundation Day.

In recognition of his outstanding leadership, Dr Bálint Filep, President of Széchenyi István University, was awarded the Officer’s Cross of the Order of Merit of Hungary, Civil Division. Dr László Varga, Doctor of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Professor of the Albert Kázmér Mosonmagyaróvár Faculty of Széchenyi University, Head of the Wittmann Antal Crop-, Animal- and Food Sciences Multidisciplinary Doctoral School, Chairman of University Doctoral Council, received the Officer’s Cross.

Dr László Varga

For his high quality work, Dr László Tamándl, President’s Delegate for Proposals and Development of the University, and associate professor at the Kautz Gyula Faculty of Business and Economics, was awarded the Knight’s Cross of the Order of Merit of Hungary, Civil Division.

Ede Roth, guitar virtuoso, chamber musician and associate professor at Széchenyi University’s Faculty of Performance Arts, was awarded the Gold Cross of Merit of Hungary, Civil Division for his outstanding work. József Bana, historian, archivist, retired director of the Archives of the City of Győr, and associate professor in the Department of Legal History at the Deák Ferenc Faculty of Law and Political Sciences, received the Gold Cross of Merit of Hungary, Civil Division.
