OPENING OF THE PEDRÓ-INNO BAKERY AND BISTRO AT THE INNOVATION PARK OF SZE IN GYŐR

The opening of the Pedró-Inno Bakery and Bistro at the Innovation Park of Széchenyi István University in Győr serves both the citizens of the university and the city. The shop, which was officially opened on 24 April and offers quality food and drinks, is a joint venture between Pannon Famulus Ltd, wholly owned by the institution, and Pedró Pékség Ltd.

Győr’s once legendary biscuit and wafer factory is still remembered by locals, many of whom recall the delicious smell of vanilla wafer and silk sugar that used to fill the neighbourhood. This past is also evoked by the Pedró-Inno Bakery and Bistro, which has opened in the Győr Innovation Park, a former factory warehouse converted by Széchenyi István University.

The national ribbon was cut by Dr. Tamás Kolossváry, Head of the University's Innovation Park in Győr, Szabolcs Szeles, Deputy Mayor of Győr, Róbert Balázs Simon, Member of Parliament, Roland Tukacs, employee of Pedró Bakery Ltd., Péter Vajda, owner of Pedró Bakery Ltd. and Kelemen Sárai-Szabó, Benedictine Prior of Győr. The Prior blessed the shop.

At the inauguration ceremony, Péter Vajda, CEO of Pedró Bakery Ltd., thanked the developers and contractors, as well as Dr. Bálint Filep, President of the University, for choosing them as partners for the joint venture. „We offer hospitality here that makes every visitor happy. Not only can they enjoy a breakfast or a good loaf of bread to take home, but there is also the opportunity to entertain groups of friends and family,” he said. He added that they are indebted to the staff of the university. „It’s great working together, we learn every day and we keep getting better. It not only strengthens our business, but it also makes Győr, the county and our country better,” he said.

The Pedró-Inno Bakery and Bistro offers freshly baked breads, rolls, buns, pastries, speciality langallos, coffee and alcoholic drinks. The shop, which also has a terrace, is open every day except Sunday: from Monday to Thursday from 6 am to 8 pm, and on Friday and Saturday from 6 am to midnight.
