SZÉCHENYI ISTVÁN UNIVERSITY: AN EXCLUSIVE HEREND PORCELAIN EXHIBITION OPENED IN THE ÓVÁR CASTLE

The temporary exhibition called Herend Overture was opened with a festive ceremony in the Óvár Castle which is the centre of the Széchenyi István University’s Albert Kázmér Faculty of Mosonmagyarovár. The impressive exhibition is open to visitors until 30 April.

The faculty of the Széchenyi István University in Mosonmagyaróvár awaits porcelain admirers with a special exhibition, where the masterpieces of the Herend Porcelain Manufactory will be on display for two months.

The exhibited works include both traditional designs and their recent versions. For example, the renewed version of the Victoria design from the 1851 London World’s Fair, called Royal Garden which was the official wedding gift of Hungary to the British Prince and Princess of Wales, Prince William and Princess Catherine, in 2011. The opening of the exhibition was held on 29 February and was attended by representatives of the Embassy of Japan in Hungary, including Deputy Head of Mission Junko Sato and Head of the Cultural Division Ozaki Takesi.
