The collaboration established by SZE’s Albert Kázmér Faculty in Mosonmagyaróvár, and the University’s spin-off company, Uni Inno Plc with Gallus Ltd and Taravis Ltd, both belonging to the Gallus Group, supports students’ professional development and industry experience, as well as the implementation of joint research, development and innovation projects.
SZE’s Albert Kázmér Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences in Mosonmagyaróvár places great emphasis on developing its academic programmes and research in line with the current needs of economic stakeholders. In keeping with this commitment, on 26 August, the Faculty concluded a cooperation agreement with Uni Inno Zrt., the university’s commercialisation company, and two member companies of the Gallus Group, Gallus Kft. and Taravis Kft. The Hungarian-owned family enterprise, which has been operating for 35 years, is a key player in the domestic agricultural and food industries. Gallus Ltd is involved in crop production, broiler chicken breeding and hatching, whilst Taravis Ltd’s activities focus on poultry processing and the production of packaged meat products.
As part of the partnership, the Group’s experts will be involved in supporting undergraduate and master’s dissertations, as well as doctoral research, whilst internship opportunities designed to help students gain industry experience may be further expanded. The parties may also collaborate on dual or micro-certificate training programmes, on joint educational content, and on research, development and innovation projects. The latter may focus, amongst other things, on developing new products and technologies, state-of-the-art quality assurance solutions, and more efficient manufacturing and processing techniques.

“Our relationship with the Gallus Group dates back several decades. The company has supported many of our research projects in the past, and we have now brought this professional collaboration to a new level. We particularly value the fact that the group covers the entire food-chain, from crop production and animal feed through to livestock farming and food production. I am convinced that the poultry sector will play a key role in the future global supply of food and protein, whilst also being one of the most automated and digitised areas of livestock farming. This ties in perfectly with our Faculty’s training and research activities in the field of precision and digitalised agriculture,” emphasised Dr Tamás Tóth, Research Professor and Dean of the Faculty.
Dr Balázs Ásványi, Vice Dean for Corporate Relations, emphasised that their objective is to involve key players in the agricultural and food industries in education, research and joint professional discourse. “The Gallus Group is a particularly valuable partner for us, as it enables our students to gain an understanding of the entire production chain and to directly link their academic knowledge with state-of-the-art industry technologies, methods and practical experience,” he said.
Ákos Szabó, the managing director and owner of the group of companies, explained that they are welcoming not only students from the Mosonmagyaróvár faculty, but also those from other programmes at the University, as their operations encompass a wide range of interlinked specialist fields, from agricultural technologies to robotisation. “I took over the business from my father, and with it, the knowledge and experience of several decades. At the same time, continuous development is important to us too: the University’s academic background, as well as the students’ openness, their questions and fresh perspectives, can provide new impetus. I am confident that young people will gain valuable practical experience with us, and that many of them may later join us as interns, engineers, specialists or managers. In this way, we can work together to build the future of agriculture and the food industry for the long term,” he emphasised.
Marianna Szabó, HR Director, emphasised that organisational development, digitalisation and the modernisation of internal operations have all played an important role in the group’s activities recently. They approached the University partnership with careful planning, as they consider it important that students arriving at the company are welcomed by colleagues with the appropriate professional background, mentoring and opportunities for development. “In this way, the experience accumulated here can be taken forward by the next generation, whilst their fresh knowledge and perspective also enrich us. After all, knowledge drives the industry forward when it meets practice – and when there is someone to pass it on to,” said Marianna Szabó.
