Upon the recommendation of Prime Minister Magyar Péter, President of the Republic Baka András awarded the Knight’s Cross of the Hungarian Order of Merit (Civil Division) to Dr Dóka Ottó, former Vice-Rector of Széchenyi István University and Professor of the Faculty of Informatics and Electrical Engineering, on the occasion of Hungary’s National Day 2026, in recognition of his outstanding scientific achievements, his distinguished work as an educator and academic leader, and his pivotal role in coordinating university research with regional development.

At the ceremony held in the Hungarian Parliament Building, Dr Halmai Gábor, constitutional lawyer, Professor Emeritus of Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest, founder and lecturer of the former ELTE–SZIF Educational Institute, which provided legal education in Győr, received the Commander’s Cross of the Hungarian Order of Merit (Civil Division) in recognition of his outstanding scholarly and teaching achievements in the field of constitutional law, as well as his influential professional work as the founding Editor-in-Chief of Fundamentum, a journal focusing on human rights.

At the joint central ceremony of the Ministry of Defence and the Hungarian Defence Forces, Minister of Defence Ruszin-Szendi Romulusz presented the Gejza Ferdinandy Award to Dr Farkas Ádám, Colonel and Senior Research Fellow at the Department of Modern Technologies and Cybersecurity Law of the Deák Ferenc Faculty of Law and Political Sciences at Széchenyi István University, in recognition of his outstanding work in military public administration and his exceptional achievements in the modernisation of defence administration. Established in 1999 and presented annually on the occasion of 20 August, the Gejza Ferdinandy Award is the highest professional distinction recognising outstanding work in the fields of military law and defence administration.
Dr Farkas Ádám, Colonel, received the Gejza Ferdinandy Award.
