Széchenyi István University will present its educational, research, development and innovation activities at this year’s Formula 1 Hungarian Grand Prix. Thanks to its strategic partnership with Hungaroring Sport Plc., the University will be the only Hungarian university exhibiting independently at one of the world’s most prestigious motorsport events.

As a strategic partner of Hungaroring Sport Plc., Széchenyi István University debuted its own stand at the Formula 1 Hungarian Grand Prix last year. Visitors had the opportunity to explore the University’s innovative motorsport and automotive initiatives in the Fan Zone. As part of the ongoing collaboration, motorsport enthusiasts will once again have the opportunity to meet representatives of the University at this year’s Grand Prix, taking place between 23 and 26 July.

Visitors will be able to learn more about the University’s internationally successful student competition teams, including the Arrabona Racing Team and the SZEnergy Team, the latter of which recently won Europe’s largest energy-efficiency competition for the fifth time, once again setting a world record. They will also have the opportunity to try a racing simulator and gain insight into the University’s related degree programmes, research projects and development activities. The exhibition will highlight the extensive knowledge base and innovation ecosystem that underpin Széchenyi István University’s position as one of Hungary’s leading institutions in technical higher education.

„Our University has built a unique portfolio in motorsport and automotive research. Our student competition teams, academic programmes, research activities and industrial partnerships form an integrated ecosystem that connects directly with key stakeholders in the sector. Our strategic partnership with Hungaroring Sport Plc. further strengthens this professional foundation. An important element of this collaboration is the Hungaroring Automotive and Motorsport External Department, which brings education, research and the world of motorsport closer together, while providing our students with valuable insight into the operations of the Hungaroring behind the scenes. It is an exceptional opportunity for us to showcase this rich portfolio to the audience of such a major sporting event,” said Dr Tamás Kolossváry, Head of the Győr Innovation Park at Széchenyi István University.

The Széchenyi István University stand attracted considerable interest at last year’s Formula 1 Hungarian Grand Prix.
