A total of 111 graduates of the Audi Hungaria Faculty of Automotive Engineering at Széchenyi István University received their degrees during a graduation ceremony held at the Győr City University Hall on 14 July. The event brought together faculty leaders, academic staff, family members and friends to celebrate the graduates’ achievements. Outstanding students who demonstrated exceptional professional, scientific or community engagement alongside their studies were also recognised.
The ceremony opened with a welcome address by Professor Gábor Dogossy, Dean of the Faculty. „At the beginning of your university journey, you were given a degree of freedom that marked an important step towards independence. At the same time, you also learned that freedom comes with responsibility, decisions and commitments,” he said. He added that their degree represents both the successful completion of a long journey and the beginning of a new professional path, where this sense of responsibility will become even more significant. „The knowledge you have acquired here is extremely valuable, but it will remain so only if you continue to refresh it and pursue lifelong learning. The doors of our University will always remain open to you,” he told the graduates.
International graduates were addressed by Dr Csaba Tóth-Nagy, Head of the Bachelor’s Programme in Automotive Engineering. Farewell speeches on behalf of the graduating class were delivered by Gábor Major for the Hungarian students and Kubilay Türker Kirdök for the international students. The ceremony also featured performances by students of the Győr Dance and Fine Arts Primary School, Vocational Secondary School and Dormitory, which is maintained by Széchenyi István University.
Student Union awards were also presented during the event. Bátor Gábor Kiss, a Bachelor’s student in Automotive Engineering and member of the SZEngine team, and Kristóf Nagy, a Bachelor’s student in Automotive Engineering and member of the Arrabona Racing Team, received the Pro Progressum Certificate of Merit. The Pro Progressum Diploma was awarded to Olivér József Posvancz, a Master’s student in Motorsport Engineering and member of the SZEngine team.
The Pro Auditoribus Certificate of Merit was presented to Bálint Barnabás Fehér, a Bachelor’s student in Automotive Engineering. Pro Auditoribus Diplomas were awarded to Gábor Major, Gergő Németh and Kristóf Végh, all Bachelor’s students in Automotive Engineering, while Dávid Viktor Jäger, a Master’s student in Automotive Engineering, received the Bronze Pro Auditoribus Award.
The SZESAT Interdisciplinary College for Advanced Studies presented a Certificate of Recognition to Martin Magyar, a Bachelor’s student in Automotive Engineering, in recognition of his contributions to airship and high-altitude balloon experiments, as well as his first-place finish at the inaugural National Lajos the Great Memorial Engineering Design Competition.
The ceremony concluded with the presentation of degrees and the graduates taking their graduation oath.
