Széchenyi István University’s Zalaegerszeg Innovation Park recently organised the Future of Vehicles: Innovation, Engineering and Economic Conference (FoV) for the second time this year. The two-day scientific event focused on the issues of future mobility.
The Zalaegerszeg Innovation Park of Széchenyi István University hosted the FoV conference for the second time, examining the future of vehicles and transport in a comprehensive manner. The programme was created to provide an interdisciplinary professional forum for presenting research, development and innovation directions related to the automotive industry and mobility. Particular emphasis was placed on autonomous vehicles, artificial intelligence, sustainable transport, electromobility, vehicle manufacturing technologies, materials science developments, and the various social aspects of mobility.
The event was opened by Professor Dr Ferenc Friedler, Rector and Vice-President for Scientific Affairs, and Dr Zoltán Weltsch, Head of the Zalaegerszeg Innovation Park and Chair of the conference. In their welcome speeches, they emphasised that Zalaegerszeg and the university’s presence there play a key role in strengthening automotive research and development, innovation, and international scientific cooperation.
The programme attracted considerable interest: more than one hundred professionals attended the event, representing domestic and international universities, research institutes, and industry stakeholders. The international nature of the FoV was reinforced by participants arriving from eleven countries in addition to Hungary, while ten universities—besides the host institution—represented Hungarian higher education.
