The team of Sz\u00e9chenyi Istv\u00e1n University, UNI Gy\u0151r ETO HC, has won Hungary\u2019s second-division ice hockey championship, the Andersen League for the 2025\u201326 season. In the best-of-three final, the Gy\u0151r side successfully defended their title for the second time in a row against Lehel HC.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Heading into the weekend match in J\u00e1szber\u00e9ny, UNI Gy\u0151r ETO HC held a 2\u20131 advantage, having won the first game in Gy\u0151r 4\u20130, then suffered a narrow 5\u20134 defeat away, followed by a 5\u20132 victory at home. Before the match, two scenarios were possible: if Sz\u00e9chenyi Istv\u00e1n University\u2019s team won again, they would be crowned champions; if they lost, a decisive final clash would be required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ETO quickly made it clear that they had travelled to J\u00e1szber\u00e9ny to win: after successfully fighting off a two-man disadvantage in the first period, they strengthened their mental edge and took the lead through Martin S\u00e1gi. The second period saw rapid exchanges of goals, with Martin Sip\u00e1k, Bence D\u00e9zsi and D\u00e1niel Cs\u00f6lle scoring for Gy\u0151r, while \u00c1d\u00e1m Trozs\u00e1k and Zsolt R\u0151czei found the net for Lehel. The teams thus entered the final period with ETO leading 4\u20132. In the closing stage, the green-and-whites sealed not only the match but also the championship: goals from Bence Makovics, M\u00e1rk Alm\u00e1si and Barnab\u00e1s D\u00e9zsi secured a 7\u20132 away victory.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
