Sz\u00e9chenyi Istv\u00e1n University has reached another important milestone: for the first time, the institution has been included in the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings by Subject. The University is now ranked among the world\u2019s leading institutions in the field of economics and econometrics.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
The QS subject rankings, compiled by one of the most prestigious international higher education evaluation organizations, assess universities worldwide across five broad subject areas and 55 narrower disciplines. The methodology considers several indicators, including publication performance, the international impact of research, and the opinions of both the academic community and employers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The latest rankings, published on 25 March, feature Sz\u00e9chenyi Istv\u00e1n University for the first time, with the institution debuting in the 551\u2013700 range in economics and econometrics. This subject area is closely associated with the Kautz Gyula Faculty of Business and Economics and the Regional and Economic Sciences Doctoral School, both of which serve as key centres for education in business and economics as well as for research activities\u2014typically international in scope\u2014built on strong corporate partnerships.<\/p>\n\n\n

\u201cAmong higher education rankings, global and subject rankings are particularly important, as they most clearly reflect an institution\u2019s international impact. It is therefore a significant achievement that Sz\u00e9chenyi Istv\u00e1n University has been included in the QS subject rankings. This recognition is not only important for our professional community but also plays a decisive role in the choices of international students. When selecting a university, they pay close attention not only to the characteristics of the city and the quality of education, but also to the global recognition of the specific field of study. I would like to express my sincere appreciation to the dedicated staff of our Faculty of Business and Economics for this achievement,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0emphasized Dr Eszter Luk\u00e1cs, Vice-President for International Affairs and Strategic Relations at the University.<\/p>\n\n\n

\u201cThe achievements of the Kautz Gyula Faculty of Business and Economics are built on a dynamically developing teaching and research community. In the current academic year, approximately 2,500 students are enrolled at our Faculty, more than 300 of whom come from abroad, representing 40 different countries. This diverse environment not only strengthens the quality of our programmes but also ensures that our students acquire knowledge within a genuinely international perspective. Our scientific performance has also been a key factor in our appearance in the rankings: nearly 80 percent of our Faculty members publish regularly in Scopus-indexed journals, and our faculty contributes the highest number of such publications within the University, including an outstanding proportion of top-tier Q1 publications,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0highlighted Dr S\u00e1ndor Remsei, Dean of the Kautz Gyula Faculty of Business and Economics.<\/p>\n\n\n

\u201cThe community of researchers and supervisors within our doctoral school, along with the research networks they maintain, strongly supports the further development of academic talent and the strengthening of international integration. At the same time, doctoral candidates themselves actively shape research processes and make a significant contribution to the institution\u2019s research and publication performance. Their collaboration with experienced faculty and researchers, as well as with distinguished international professors involved in the doctoral school\u2019s activities, has created a scholarly environment capable of participating in global academic discourse,\u201d<\/em> said Professor L\u00e1szl\u00f3 Vasa, Head of the Doctoral School of Regional- and Business Administration Sciences<\/p>\n\n\n\n
