Sz\u00e9chenyi Istv\u00e1n University is establishing an automated store and an associated training warehouse at the Albert K\u00e1zm\u00e9r Faculty in Mosonmagyar\u00f3v\u00e1r. The robot-operated container store has already arrived at the site. By offering a new type of shopping experience, the development will help strengthen domestic digital short supply chains, while also supporting university education with new practical opportunities.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A robotized automated store was recently delivered to the Mosonmagyar\u00f3v\u00e1r campus of Sz\u00e9chenyi Istv\u00e1n University, located at 2 Lucsony utca, next to the future new Hall of Residence building. The development was jointly presented by the institution and its professional partners, the Cibus Hungaricus Foundation and LogBord Ltd., at the SIRHA 2026 Budapest international trade exhibition<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The facility will be operated by K\u00f6z\u00e9rt+ Plc., a company owned by the University. The handover point, which has not yet been stocked with goods, is expected to begin test operations in early May, with full operation and sales planned to start by the end of June.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr P\u00e9ter L\u00e1szl\u00f3 P\u0151cze, CEO of K\u00f6z\u00e9rt+ Plc., stated that the modern system is capable of storing and selling 80\u2013100 different types of products and can handle approximately 7,000\u201310,000 items. The store operates with two temperature zones: one for refrigerated fresh goods and another for products that do not require cooling. Purchases can be made digitally via a mobile application, enabling pre-ordering and fast service 24 hours a day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An important element of the development is the creation of a training warehouse, which will be located at 24 Lucsony utca. This facility will partly ensure the logistical support of the automated store and will also function as an educational and demonstration site. According to plans, it will also showcase a digitalized picking and tracking system developed with the participation of the Digital Development Centre of Sz\u00e9chenyi Istv\u00e1n University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The automated store will serve students, local residents, and tourists alike. The permanent product range is expected to include bakery goods, dairy products, non-perishable foods, beverages, as well as chemical and cosmetic items, supplemented by seasonal products. A key objective is also to sell products from local producers and those connected to the University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The store and the associated training warehouse will thus support innovation, practice-oriented education, and the demonstration of modern retail solutions, contributing to Sz\u00e9chenyi Istv\u00e1n University and its partners playing a key role in the development of the future food supply chain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The investment, worth nearly 225 million forints, is being implemented with the support of the project titled:\u00a0\u201cEstablishing a food logistics framework in the Carpathian Basin region to develop a competitive food industry and a secure commercial system supporting public health and Hungarian agriculture\u201d (NFPF\/2005\/2020-ITM_SZERZ)<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
