At the joint ceremony of Sz\u00e9chenyi Istv\u00e1n University\u2019s Ap\u00e1czai Csere J\u00e1nos Faculty of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences, Faculty of Health and Sport Sciences, and the De\u00e1k Ferenc Faculty of Law and Political Sciences, a total of 172 graduates received their diplomas. The inauguration of new Doctors of Law also took place during the event.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

On 18 February, the three faculties of Sz\u00e9chenyi Istv\u00e1n University \u2013 the Ap\u00e1czai Csere J\u00e1nos Faculty of Pedagogy, Humanities and Social Sciences, the Faculty of Health and Sport Sciences, and the De\u00e1k Ferenc Faculty of Law and Political Sciences \u2013 held a joint graduation and doctoral inauguration ceremony at the Gy\u0151r City University Hall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The graduates of the Ap\u00e1czai Faculty were welcomed by Dean Dr Attila Pongr\u00e1cz, who emphasised in his speech the importance of commitment to one\u2019s vocation and social responsibility. As he stated, the faculty currently offers nine bachelor\u2019s and five master\u2019s programmes, as well as more than twenty postgraduate specialist training courses.\u00a0\u201cWe are continuously developing our short-cycle programmes, which \u2013 taking into account the aspects of digitalisation and sustainability \u2013 provide development opportunities for institutional and corporate professionals through training methodology,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0he added. In connection with the faculty, he highlighted innovation alongside the transmission of values, mentioning the LEGO experiential pedagogy classroom and the STEM classroom established in the previous academic year, where the educational opportunities of the 21st-century digital world are explored.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr Ang\u00e9la Somogyi, Dean of the Faculty of Health and Sport Sciences, stressed that their aim is to develop an education and research portfolio that responds to the real needs of society by linking the fields of health and sport sciences \u2013 whether in terms of professional supply, strengthening disciplines, or scientific innovation. \u201cThrough numerous new programmes, we support this approach: this year our portfolio has been expanded with a master\u2019s programme in nutritional sciences, and in the future, we will launch master\u2019s programmes in Sport Mental Coaching, Sport Management and Specialist Coaching, as well as postgraduate specialist programmes for sport psychologists and sport healthcare professionals. Our plans also include the introduction of bachelor\u2019s programmes in psychology and sport sciences, as well as \u2013 in cooperation with the specialists of the National Institute for Sports Medicine \u2013 a physiotherapist specialisation within the nursing and patient care bachelor\u2019s programme,\u201d<\/em> she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On behalf of the graduates of the Ap\u00e1czai Faculty, Vir\u00e1g Dedics bid farewell to the alma mater, while Alina Kinga Szendi did so on behalf of the graduates of the De\u00e1k Ferenc Faculty of Law and Political Sciences. This was followed by a performance by the students of the\u00a0Visual Arts Primary School, Vocational School and Dormitory, maintained by the University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the ceremony, the Pro Auditoribus Award, granted by the Student Union of Sz\u00e9chenyi Istv\u00e1n University, was presented. In the diploma classification, Franka Rendek, a student of the bachelor\u2019s programme in Human Resources, Labour and Social Administration, was recognised.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following the presentation of diplomas, the inauguration of the Doctors of Law completed the event. \u201cI do not have the slightest concern that you will be able to find employment in your profession, and that your employers will recognise and remunerate your valuable knowledge \u2013 provided it is complemented by diligence,\u201d<\/em> said Professor Dr P\u00e9ter Smuk, Dean of the De\u00e1k Ferenc Faculty of Law and Political Sciences, in congratulating all graduates after the oath-taking ceremony. He emphasised that, in the long term, the only viable path is to remain honourable and to practise one\u2019s chosen profession with integrity. \u201cSeek opportunities to carry out creative work, to serve life and humanity. Be active and supportive members of our alumni community. Help our faculty to become even better, so that together we may be proud of your knowledge and of Sz\u00e9chenyi Istv\u00e1n University,\u201d<\/em> the Dean concluded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
