Sz\u00e9chenyi Istv\u00e1n University\u2019s Faculty of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Transport Sciences held its winter graduation ceremony on 17 February. At the event, more than 180 graduates were welcomed as they embark on a new chapter of their lives with their degrees in hand.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Faculty of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Transport Engineering of Sz\u00e9chenyi Istv\u00e1n University held its graduation ceremony at the\u00a0Gy\u0151r City University Hall. At the beginning of the ceremony, Dr J\u00e1nos Sz\u00e9p, Dean of the Faculty, welcomed those present.\u00a0\u201cOur Faculty has developed significantly in recent years. Today, nearly two thousand students study with us across five fields \u2013 architecture, civil engineering, transport engineering, logistics engineering, and technical management. International students join us, we run English-taught and double-degree programmes, and our students work in real industrial environments already during their university years,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0he stated. He added that sustainability, climate change, energy security, digitalisation, artificial intelligence, and the uncertainty of global supply chains are all issues to which well-prepared, thoughtful and responsible engineers are capable of providing answers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

M\u00e1ty\u00e1s Tutervai, President of the\u00a0Hungarian Chamber of Architects, advised the new graduates to be proud of earning their degrees, to celebrate, and then consciously to plan the next stage of their lives. As he noted, they have received knowledge from the University that enables them to set out on their path, on which the Chamber will also support them as a partner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On behalf of the graduates, Fruzsina Bak, a Bachelor\u2019s student in Architecture, said farewell to the University, after which a performance by students of the Sz\u00e9chenyi Istv\u00e1n University Gy\u0151r and Visual Arts Primary School, Vocational School and Dormitory enhanced the ceremony.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event continued with the presentation of student awards. The Pro Progressum Award Certificate, recognising professional work carried out for the development of organisations operating at the University, was granted to B\u00e1lint Bendeg\u00faz Sellei, a Master\u2019s student in technical management and member of the\u00a0SZEngine\u00a0team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students with outstanding community activities were honoured with the Pro Auditoribus Award. The certificate classification was awarded to Zolt\u00e1n Horv\u00e1th, a Bachelor\u2019s student in Architecture; the diploma classification to Kitti Kov\u00e1cs, a Technical Management student, as well as D\u00e1niel Seesink, Andr\u00e1s Krist\u00f3f Balog and Gergely Szmodics, Bachelor\u2019s students in Transportation Engineering; while the silver classification was awarded to Fruzsina Bak and Zs\u00f3fia Kov\u00e1cs, Bachelor\u2019s students in Architecture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In total, 181 students graduated from the Faculty. Following the presentation of their diplomas, they reaffirmed their professional commitment by taking an oath.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
