In the immediate vicinity of the track operates&nbsp;Sz\u00e9chenyi Istv\u00e1n University\u2019s&nbsp;Zalaegerszeg Innovation Park, serving as a bridge between education and industrial testing \u2013 as experienced by students of the English-taught Motorsport Engineering MSc programme first-hand during the past semester.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ZalaZone Automotive Proving Ground&nbsp;is one of Europe\u2019s most complex modular automotive test environments, incorporating a high-speed oval track, urban and motorway sections, dynamic and off-road elements, as well as zones supporting autonomous and e-mobility developments. The diverse track modules make it possible to examine new vehicle technologies, driver assistance systems and vehicle dynamics solutions under real-life conditions. Closely integrated into this ecosystem is the Zalaegerszeg Innovation Park of&nbsp;Sz\u00e9chenyi Istv\u00e1n University, which supports automotive developments with measurement infrastructure and laboratories, while regularly hosting student courses, field exercises and research projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Within this environment, last December the two-session practical programme of the University\u2019s English-taught MSc in Motorsport Engineering was implemented as part of the\u00a0<em>Race Vehicle Testing<\/em>\u00a0course. Students conducted vehicle dynamics measurements with five different vehicles on the University, motorway and dynamic modules of\u00a0ZalaZone Automotive Proving Ground. The aim of the programme was not only to collect data, but also to understand how raw measurements become decision-support information through systematic organisation, data cleaning and interpretation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" src=\"https:\/\/alumni.sze.hu\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/Kep1-15-1024x682.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-9596\" srcset=\"https:\/\/alumni.sze.hu\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/Kep1-15-1024x682.webp 1024w, https:\/\/alumni.sze.hu\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/Kep1-15-300x200.webp 300w, https:\/\/alumni.sze.hu\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/Kep1-15-768x512.webp 768w, https:\/\/alumni.sze.hu\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/Kep1-15-1536x1023.webp 1536w, https:\/\/alumni.sze.hu\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/Kep1-15-18x12.webp 18w, https:\/\/alumni.sze.hu\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/Kep1-15.webp 1621w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><em>Students carried out vehicle dynamics measurements with five different vehicles in Zalaegerszeg<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>D\u00e1vid B\u00e1ri, the course lecturer, together with researchers from the Zalaegerszeg Innovation Park, guided participants through every stage of the measurement cycle \u2013 from defining objectives and establishing the measurement protocol to the professional analysis of results. Experience gained in real measurement environments helps students to adopt an industry-oriented mindset already during their studies.
