Assistant professor<\/strong> – Sz\u00e9chenyi Istv\u00e1n University<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

An Early Academic Vision<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

My story with Sz\u00e9chenyi Istv\u00e1n University began long before I set foot in Gy\u0151r. I had been following the research of Prof. Majid Movahedi Rad, and I knew that if I wanted to specialize in advanced structural optimization, his guidance would be invaluable. When I was finally accepted to work on his research topic, it felt like a turning point in my career.
What I had not expected, however, was how quickly the university itself, and the city of Gy\u0151r would become an important part of my personal life. From the first weeks, I felt a sense of belonging. The calm atmosphere of the campus, the warm interactions with staff and students, and the vibrant international community all made me feel at home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Years of Research, Growth, and Community<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Between 2020 and 2024, I completed my PhD in Civil Engineering, focusing on structural engineering. My dissertation was more than just a research project, it was a journey of determination, long nights, failed attempts, breakthroughs, and ultimately, pride. Sz\u00e9chenyi Istv\u00e1n University provided not only the academic foundation but also the encouragement and environment I needed to turn my ideas into meaningful contributions.
What I appreciated most during those years was the balance between academic rigor and personal support. The university\u2019s programmes are well-designed, and the staff truly care about students\u2019 progress. But beyond these institutional strengths, it was the everyday human experiences, the conversations, the friendships, the shared challenges, that made my time at SZE special.
Those years shaped me in ways I did not anticipate. They strengthened my expertise in structural optimization, prepared me to publish in respected international journals, and helped me build the confidence needed to pursue ambitious research goals. But they also taught me patience, resilience, and the importance of community, lessons that continue to guide me today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Continuing the Journey at Sz\u00e9chenyi Istv\u00e1n University<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am now honored to be affiliated in the Department of Structural Engineering and Geotechnics at Sz\u00e9chenyi Istv\u00e1n University. Remaining at the same institution where I completed my PhD is something I value greatly. It feels meaningful to now stand on the other side of the classroom, supervising students and helping them navigate the same academic path that once challenged and shaped me.
Since earning my PhD, I have published more than twenty research papers, including top-tier journals such as Computer Methods in Applied Mechanics and Engineering, Computers & Structures, and Advances in Engineering Software<\/em>. I have received several Scientific Scholarships. I also contribute to the global research community as a reviewer and guest editor, and I have helped organize international conferences that connect researchers from around the world.
But beyond all these achievements, what matters most to me is that SZE continues to be my academic home. It is the place where I discovered my direction, built lifelong connections, and developed the mindset that guides my research today. Being able to give back, to teach, supervise, and contribute to the university\u2019s growth is one of my proudest accomplishments.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
