Sz\u00e9chenyi Istv\u00e1n University places great emphasis on nurturing talent, and the Design Campus Competence Centre (DCKK) and the Department of Design within the Faculty of Design and Performance Arts has now added a new element to this mission by launching their joint project titled \u201cDO \u2014 Growing in Design.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cDesign today is not only about objects but also about thinking, connection and development. This mindset drives our initiative. Our collaboration is both a professional partnership and the beginning of a new era, in which academic knowledge, research and the creative industries work together to strengthen their presence on both the national and international stage,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0said Andr\u00e1s Gosztom, Professional Director of the\u00a0DCKK<\/em>. Kriszti\u00e1n Pal\u00f3cz, Head of the Department of Industrial Design, added that the name \u201cDO\u201d draws inspiration from Gy\u0151r\u2019s industrial heritage and symbolises an active design approach \u2013 an attitude in which form, concept and collaboration form an inseparable unity.\u00a0\u201cThe project made its debut at the Blickfang Vienna 2025 exhibition, which is a milestone, as this event is one of Europe\u2019s best-known design fairs and exhibitions,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0he emphasised.<\/p>\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n For more than thirty years, Blickfang has provided space for various branches of contemporary design, where visitors can meet designers, creators and brands directly. The focus lies on authenticity, quality and unique ideas \u2013 the same human-centred approach represented by the Gy\u0151r-based initiative. The professional programme also provides opportunities for young designers to introduce themselves. \u201cCreators with fresh perspectives and bold ideas are given a platform to reflect on the questions of the present.
