Although the open-air season is over for this year, the period from October to April promises to be a busy one at the <\/strong>Bridge Student and Teacher Club<\/strong><\/a> of Sz\u00e9chenyi Istv\u00e1n University: the best Hungarian popular music performers will be playing weekend after weekend at the venue. Fans of rock, rap and alternative genres will be well catered for, but there will also be a boogie-woogie festival, a tribute band playing covers and a special Esti Egyenleg birthday party. P\u00e9ter N\u00e9meth-Bende, the manager, said that a number of performances are already booked for next summer.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

As is tradition, in October, Tankcsapda bid farewell to the Bridge Garden, Gy\u0151r’s only permanent outdoor stage, whose success has been unbroken since its launch in 2020. From May to October this year, the calendar was again full of concerts, with a huge audience interest. The length of the summer season is constantly stretching over time, starting earlier and ending later – a sign of the success of the concept.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

„Nature wasn\u2019t the kindest to us this year, with floods at the beginning of summer and in September. I\u2019m thankful for the work of my colleagues and the student volunteers who helped us get through this period. Fortunately, the floodwaters receded quickly and we only had to postpone a few concerts. In the end, we were able to hold all the parties, albeit late,”<\/em> recalled P\u00e9ter N\u00e9meth-Bende, the manager, who added that he was satisfied with the season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

„Despite the fact that the economic environment has forced the events industry to record a drop of almost 20 percent this year, and most of the festivals are generating losses, we were able to maintain high attendance at the concerts. This is also due to the special atmosphere of the venue, which is loved by both performers and audiences alike. We welcomed several new guests to the Bridge Garden stage, such as T.Danny, Budapest B\u00e1r and Analog Balaton. Another memorable concert was the Kisp\u00e1l \u00e9s a Borz concert at the end of May, which was the legendary band’s first appearance in Gy\u0151r in a long time,”<\/em>\u00a0he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After a busy summer programme, the autumn-winter club season promises to be another enticing one at the Bridge. From mid-October until New Year’s Eve, the line-up will be a mix of acts including Lord<\/em><\/a>, Depresszi\u00f3<\/em><\/a>, Alvin \u00e9s a M\u00f3kusok<\/em><\/a>, Hiperkarma<\/em><\/a> and BSW<\/em><\/a>. In keeping with tradition, the Gy\u0151r-based band Aurora<\/a> will bid farewell to the audience at the Bridge Club, and Moby Dick<\/em> and Akela<\/em><\/a> will close the year in the club just before New Year’s Eve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A special feature is that the Gy\u0151r-based cover band Esti Egyenleg<\/em><\/a> celebrated its 20th anniversary this year, which it will celebrate with three thematic concerts in three different parts on the Bridge stage. The third performance will take place on 30 November and will mark a fitting end to their jubilee year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

„We will also be holding themed evenings where tribute bands will play songs by their favourites. We’ll be combining Nirvana and the Red Hot Chili Peppers with Green Day and Blink 182. We also have a smaller stage on the lower level for semi-amateur or emerging acts, so we can also host various underground bands or talented local bands,” <\/em>concluded P\u00e9ter N\u00e9meth-Bende.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
