Among the strategic goals of Sz\u00e9chenyi Istv\u00e1n University are strengthening of research and educational activities related to intelligent mobility and autonomous systems, as well as expanding international professional cooperation. As part of these efforts, a multi-day workshop was organised within the framework of Bavarian\u2013Hungarian intergovernmental cooperation, welcoming students and researchers from partner universities to the University\u2019s Gy\u0151r campus. The programme focused on the development and testing of self-driving algorithms, complemented by professional lectures, research presentations and laboratory visits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In addition to the host institution, students and researchers from Munich University of Applied Sciences, Landshut University of Applied Sciences, Kempten University of Applied Sciences, Coburg University of Applied Sciences and Arts, and E\u00f6tv\u00f6s Lor\u00e1nd University took part in the event. Undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral students specialising in electrical engineering, computer engineering and mechatronics engineering worked together in international teams on joint engineering tasks, sharing their expertise and experiences. Participants first developed and refined their algorithms in a simulation environment before testing them on robotic platforms. Consequently, the programme provided insight into the entire process of autonomous systems development: from sensor data processing and perception tasks, through route planning and control engineering, to the algorithms governing robot movement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n![\"\"](\"https:\/\/alumni.sze.hu\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Kep1-26-1024x683.jpg\")
